G ustavo
was born in the city of “Saint Mary of the Good
Aires”, more known as Buenos Aires in Argentina,
raised in Lima, Peru, and grew up in Miami
Beach.
Liking hair as a very
young boy he discover it would be difficult to
do without, when he played with everything
fringy & hairy, furthermore, cut his sister and
all her doll’s hair.
Gustavo has two years of
Beauty School, plus three years of
apprenticeship at Vidal Sassoon in the US, & UK.
Making five years of hair education:

Gustavo’s advanced
training in hair design at the world-famous
Vidal Sassoon Academy and School of Hair
Dressing, considered to be the "Harvard" of
hair design academies. The Vidal Sassoon
Academy offers a highly selective
post-graduate degree program in hair design
that has produced many of the top hair
designers in the world today. Upon
completion of his specialization, Gustavo
was certified as a Vidal Sassoon instructor,
and was one of the select few offered a
teaching position with the academy itself,
later ascending to the Artistic Team of the
Company, not only he has multifarious of in
house Sassoon trained stylists, plus
hundreds of outside trained stylist in
Seminars nationally and internationally.

He worked with Vidal
Sassoon in Chicago, London, UK, Boston,
Santa Monica, Miami Beach, & Frankfurt,
Germany.
It was during his teniard at the Vidal Sassoon
Academy that Gustavo developed his
distinctive flair for artistic hair design,
his cutting edge styling techniques,
“Beautiful Multi Tone and ‘Origami’ like
perfect foil placement” and his unequalled
fashion sense, all of which have served him
well during his career as a Hair Designer
and instructor. Thanks to his training and
continued striving for excellence that was
instilled in him by the Vidal Sassoon
experience, he has been able to leave his
lasting mark on the field, not only as a
teacher but also as a sought after stylist.
Gustavo has coloured, cut,
and styled several celebrities in the Arts and
Politics.

Ricordi House, Italy, in Miami for the Miami
Orchestra musical director Elaine Rinaldi, and
several other opera singers.

Gustavo’s post graduate
training with Vidal Sassoon is one of many
highlights in his career, but he has also had
the good fortune to succeed as Hair Designer and
Artistic director at several other top salons
throughout the world.
“Our haircutting and
colour techniques are at the same capacity as
those of a classically trained musician who
experiences, understands, lives, and knows the
rules as written before dares deviating from
them.”
Gustavo had a hair break
in 2001 & joined American Airlines as a flight
attendant, It was fun, & different, until 9/11
stroked & obligated him to comeback to what he
does best.
In Gustavo’s leisure time
he enjoys very much to Travel compulsively, The
High Arts, Singing as a Tenor, and Painting with
Acrylics.
Also he is a language
enthusiast. He presently speaks: Spanish, German
& Italian, learning at the moment, French &
Russian.
Gustavo gets inspired
mainly by Sculptures, paintings, symphonies,
operas, architecture & glamour thru the times.
His favourite colour is Purple.
Unlike its competitors,
Gustavo is not merely committed to the aesthetic
and art of hairstyling but also assumes a sense
of duty to lend aid and address the issue of
global warming, inspired by the exclusive
products he represents, Davines.
As such, Gustavo has taken
great strides and is the first hair salon in
the US to become a contributor to ‘Terra Pass.’
It is an organization that, in response to the
Kyoto Treaty of 2005, utilizes the monetary
funds provided by various businesses worldwide
to counteract the negative impacts of CO2
emissions. It funds and oversees various
projects that range from reforesting areas,
clean energy research that utilize wind power,
to the use of farm power and land fill gas
capture. For Gustavo and his team, the
rehabilitation of the environment is a
maintained and important agenda.
The altruistic efforts of
Gustavo Briand also lends himself to enhancing
its local community. In addition to his
international commitments he also performs pro
bono work for the members of the Florida Grand
Opera, Miami city Ballet, and Miami Symphony
Orchestra. Gustavo and his team utilize their
creativity, knowledge and expertise in hair care
and hair-health restoration to perform
extraordinary hair styles and colour corrections
on members as needed.
After all these years of
excellent experience, Gustavo has developed his
own unique technique which makes them unparallel
and second to none, in the realm of the ever
evolving Hair Industry, giving his clients Power
of Possibility and self expression.
